How long does it take to receive my photos and how do I develop them? Do you keep them after my shoot?
Customers receive their photos within 1-2 weeks of the photo shoot. Weddings during busy seasons may take up to 21 days. The photos you receive are not labelled with any watermarks or copyrights, meaning that they belong to you. You can print them through online services and stores offering photo services. I keep all photos from your shoot on file for a minimum of 12 months following your session. From time to time I may use your photos for advertising purposes, if you would not like your photos used, please let me know.

Do you have suggestions for locations and clothing?
Yes, I have locations throughout the city and surrounding areas. Once we have discussed what you have in mind I will send you locations to choose from. Clothing is a personal preference. What I do suggest is to do what feels natural...if you are a formal family, dress formally, if you are casual...keep it casual. If there is a prop that will show off your unique personality or something that your family has an interest in (sports, instruments etc.) feel free to bring it along. If you need some help, I suggest Pinterest for some inspiration!!

When are you available for photos?
I work during the day, evenings, and weekends. Once you have told me some days of the week and times that work best for you, I will send you appointments to choose from.

I supply back drops, fuzzy rugs, hats, baskets, crates for sitting, small chairs, head bands, knitted baby wraps, chalk boards etc. I will try my best to pick the best props from my supplies to suit your style and session type. Do I need to get anything ready in my home? (applies to newborn or family sessions)
No...The set-up is very simple. I will find the best location in your home with the best lighting when I arrive. The back drops do not require too much space. For newborn sessions * please see my newborn tips page on the bottom of this page.*

How much time does a session take and how many photos will I receive?
On average, a general photo shoot takes 60-90 minutes. Newborn and sessions with young children require a larger window of time due to their specific needs. Each session is different depending on the type of session and number of people involved. You can expect to receive and average of 50 plus edited images on your USB or via email transfer for a general session. * please note that unedited images will not be released under any circumstances. * *

To make a newborn session successful, there is some planning and prep required. Below I have compiled some information to make this session easy and fun for everyone!
To make a newborn session successful, there is some planning and prep required. Below I have compiled some information to make this session easy and fun for everyone!
- Phone me, write me an email or FB message when the baby is born ~ soon after you deliver so we can arrange a time for the session. Adding me to your "call or email list" is always a good idea.
- Try to book your session as soon after birth as possible. I like to photography newborns anywhere from 5-15 days. As the days go by, baby learns to stretch, wants to eat more, and are generally more fussy so try to book sooner than later.... that being said, babies are wonderful at any age and all ages are welcome!
- If the session will take place at your home – do not worry about cleaning or having anything ready in your house. I only require a small amount of space. I do not care if dishes are piled up the sink and clothes baskets are running over. I've been there :)
- Try your best to make sure the baby has a full belly before I arrive.
- Have your heat turned up! I have a heated pad that goes under the baby, and a space heater but any heat source that you have will help keep the baby sleeping and "pose-able". I bring a heating pad that I warm in the microwave...so if you do not have one, please let me know in advance.
- Collect any special items that you want used in the photos prior to the session –toys, family heirlooms, ultrasound, blankets, etc. We will use these and determine what will look best in the pictures.
- The majority of the pictures will work best if the baby is asleep so anything you can do in advance to help is welcomed. Have the baby undressed in only a diaper with a blanket wrapped around.
